LIMEN unfolds as a meditation on thresholds, those imperceptible points where one state ends and another begins. In this series,
Federico Dipinto investigates the fragile boundary between precision and materiality, between the essential and the tactile. Each work occupies a suspended space, where form
asserts itself as presence while matter dissolves into gesture.
Rather than treating the boundary as a fixed line, Dipinto conceives it as an active zone of transformation. Surfaces oscillate between clarity and depth; textures emerge and
retreat; edges hold the tension between control and release. The works do not illustrate separation, but rather articulate the fertile interval in which opposites coexist. Here,
definition is not a limit but a passage, and the visual field becomes a site of negotiation.
In LIMEN,
abstraction takes on a quiet corporeality, hinting at the concrete, while the concrete is subtly pulled toward the ephemeral. The paintings operate like thresholds
themselves—silent yet charged, inviting the viewer to inhabit the moment where perception shifts. Dipinto’s practice reveals that the limen is not a border to be crossed, but a
space to be experienced: the exact point where presence becomes possibility.
