In NETTI,
Federico turns his attention to clarity as a conceptual tension rather than a visual certainty. The works appear distilled, reduced to their most essential structures, yet this
apparent precision carries within it a subtle instability. What seems clear-cut is never absolute; purity becomes a site of questioning rather than affirmation.
DiPinto explores definition not as a rigid outline, but as an active force that shapes and dissolves in the same gesture. The surfaces are disciplined, almost ascetic, yet traces
of material presence hover beneath their restraint. This duality creates a visual pulse where order and vulnerability coexist. The paintings invite the viewer to confront the
fragile nature of what we call “the definite,” revealing that clarity is always contingent, always negotiated.
By stripping away excess, NETTI exposes the moment where form holds itself together before slipping into ambiguity. The works do not claim resolution; instead,
they open a space where perception slows and the eye becomes aware of its own need to define. In this quiet rigor, DiPinto suggests that the netti, the clear, the clean, the
precise are not endpoints, but temporary states within a larger continuum. The series ultimately reflects on the human desire for certainty, while acknowledging the porous edges
that underlie every attempt to grasp it.
