In METALLI, Federico approaches painting as a site of material transformation. The surfaces are dense, layered, and visibly marked by iron paste and rust, evoking the weight and texture of metal while revealing its vulnerability. What initially appears solid and industrial slowly opens into subtle fissures, abrasions and shifts in tone, suggesting oxidation, erosion and the silent passage of time.
The line gives structure, but never absolute control; geometry coexists with irregularity, and the compositions hover between construction and decay. Colour leans toward earthy reds, iron blacks and muted greys, reinforcing the sense of matter under tension. Rather than depicting metal, DiPinto allows the material to behave as metal enduring yet fragile, assertive yet unstable.
METALLI invites the viewer to experience painting as a living process rather than a static image. Each work feels suspended in a moment of change, as if caught between strength and dissolution.
